The panther wind
Leaps out of the night,
The snake of lightning
Is twisting and white,
The lion of thunder
Roars — and we
Sit still and content
Under a tree —
We have met fate together
And love and pain,
Why should we fear
The wrath of the rain!

Old habit that does not stop waking up in the morning, wherever I am … even on holidays.

I took my coffee….  brushes … my paintings and after the morning walk I drove to the sea in Skopelos and started painting and decoupage …

That morning looked different from the others …

The sky was loading and the sun did not come out

Everything seemed like a great rain coming.

Παλιά συνήθεια που δεν κόβεται να ξυπνώ πολύ πρωί όπου κι αν είμαι… ακόμα και στις διακοπές..

Έπαιρνα τον καφέ μου…. τα πινέλα… τις μπογιές μου και μετά τον πρωϊνό περίπατο άραζα στη θάλασσα στη Σκόπελο και άρχιζα τη ζωγραφική…

Κείνο το πρωϊνό φαινόταν αλλιώτικο από τα άλλα…

Ο ουρανός φόρτωνε και ο ήλιος αργούσε να βγει….

Όλα έδειχναν πως θα ξεσπάσει μπόρα …

 

 

When the rain came, my works were still “fresh” …

An old boat has become a shelter, and so my works have been saved … but this has been a reason to figure out how dangerous it is to be in the wrong place at the wrong time …

In 2015 there was a great disaster on the island and the people  had been afraided ….

The video shows how disastrous the passage of that rain was and, frankly, if I knew   I would not do it ……

 

Με το που έπιασε η βροχή τα έργα μου ήταν ακόμη “νωπά”…

Μια βάρκα παλιά έγινε καταφύγιο και έτσι τα έργα μου σώθηκαν…..  όμως αυτό έγινε αιτία να καταλάβω πόσο επικίνδυνο είναι να βρίσκεσαι σε λάθος μέρος τη λάθος στιγμή…

Το 2015 έγινε μια μεγάλη καταστροφή στο νησί και ο κόσμος έχει φοβηθεί….

Το βίντεο δείχνει πόσο καταστροφικό ήταν το πέρασμα εκείνης της βροχής και ειλικρινά αν το ήξερα ίσως και να μην το είχα κάνει….

      When it’s to rain,
      clouds gather up in the sky.
      So dark, mild, puffy and scary.
      No place is laid out for better safety.
      Here, is where all shall stay to witness thunder
      and its blossoming lightning.
      Creatures go about with no assurance of survival.
      But nature, embraces our powerless selves
      to relax knowing that all is well.
      Like trouble, when it affiliates our lives
      without a sign of caution.
      Brings nothing but turmoil to these shaken souls-
      Helplessly gazing ahead for all confusion to pass on.
      Earth is never fun when one is sulking,
      cause then death prevails.

      Rain on its own sanctifies.
      Same clouds that cover you with fear,
      bring down water of life.
      Darkness loiters around for a while;
      and blinds your focus so you see not when it turns.
      When it turns, so far away that
      your vision is blared
      with any troubles ever existed.
      It’s for this truth that,
      rejoice when clouds gather.
      For sadness sent down are disguises
      filled with blessings to come fourth!
      As the sun shines after this huge storm.

    • The people there told me that the continuous heavy rainfall turned the roads parallel to the coast into rushing rivers, sweeping down cars, kiosks and power poles.

      Vehicles turned over, shops and homes got flooded, while boats were washed on shore….

      I don’t hide you that the second day i watched the rain with fear…

  5. I wasn’t sure if you drew and painted. So, the Header and background are your lovely work? 🙂 🙂 There’s always an element of luck with weather, isn’t there? I’m normally an early riser too, and sneak downstairs to blog, read or admire the sunrise.

    • As i replied to another friend is decoupage and painting on rocks….

      I really don’t know who painted these girls but i liked them a lot..

      I sleep early and i prefer to rise early too……

      About the weather the good is that change very very quickly from rainy to sunshiny!!!

      Forgive my english also lol!!!!

  6. Το κολλάζ σου πανέμορφο και τρομερή η θεομηνία του 15! 😛
    Οι Σποράδες δέχονται συνήθως τόνους βροχής ακόμα και τα καλοκαίρια, γιατί είναι κοντά στο Πήλιο!

    ΑΦιλάκια πάντα έτσι όμορφα και δημιουργικά! 🙂

    • Kαλημέρα Στεφανία μου γλυκιά!!

      Η αλήθεια είναι ότι φοβήθηκα! Την πρώτη φορά που ήρθα αντιμέτωπη με ακραία καιρικά φαινόμενα ήταν στην Ικαρία χειμώνα, όπου ο αέρας για μένα ήταν πρωτόγνωρα άγριος και δυνατός σε σημείο που νόμιζα πως θα φύγει το σπίτι στο πέλαγος.

      Στην Σκόπελο ήρθα αντιμέτωπη με τους κεραυνούς το βράδυ όπου έγινε και ένα μπλάκ άουτ ως το επόμενο πρωί και το νερό της βροχής κατέβαινε τόσο ορμητικά από τα ψηλότερα σημεία προς τη θάλασσα που δημιουργούσε φόβους για επανάληψη του 2015!!

      Οι βροχές αυτές όμως δίνουν στον τόπο τόσο πράσινο που ποτέ δεν έχω ξαναδεί σε νησιά!!!

  9. To Efge63: Thanks for the feedback, I am new to this computer world, so the day I can set up a beautiful web page like yours is a ways away. I like your poems, very simple and readable..Do not speak Greek or any language but Eng. Under-educated old man, saved by not watching T.V., instead spend time on books. Just learning how to blog, now if I could just get Word Press to print my blogs exactly as written instead of turning them into a jumble.
